Breathtaking Breaths

Oh the mountains! Their glory, their splendor! How we have enjoyed being in their midst this past week, soaking up the beauty!


What is it about them? The granduer. The immensity. The way their presentation changes, at times sentinel like and almost forboding. Then again, welcoming and inviting, as the sun highlights the crags, the peaks, the valleys, the depths. Snow glistening. Dusted pines. Soaring birds. Speaking breezes. Creatures scampering. Trails beckoning. Pulses quickening. Breaths deepening. Smiles widening. Eyes tearing. Minds contemplating. Souls renewing. Gratefulness.


Their is something about being in the mountains. I recall the summer of 75, the summer I gave my heart to Jesus. Our family came out west and the mountains drew me in. To a deeper communion with their almighty and loving Creator. As does so much of His Creation.


Thank you Jesus for giving us eyes to see, ears to hear, the beauty, your beauty. Created for us. For you. For your glory. Thank you for the breaths you give, the breaths you take away. As we behold...
