Did you see it?

Did you see it? Yesterday! That feather in the sky! I saw it as I was walking late afternoon. It was amazing. It appeared as a big, white, perfectly shaped, billowy feather suspended horizontally in the bright blue sky! It was lovely!

Do you think that God takes the time to create an artistic wonder for the awe and enjoyment of His creation? Did God simply create life and physics and set in motion the winds, the atmospheric parameters and moisture appropriations in such a way that a perfect feather cloud appeared? Or was He intentional in its creation? I would like to think He was! I know it is in His power to create whenever and however He chooses.

But isn't it a beautiful thought to realize that He creates moments and places and scenes in life to bring each of us delight? That graceful butterfly that caught your attention. That phenomanal sunset that practically took your breath away. That glistening snowfall blanketing the nearby meadow. That breezy caress that warmed your upturned face. That startling bird that flew by with a flash of vibrant color. The falling star that streaked through the night's sky leaving a luminant, short lived trail in its wake.

God is so good to each of us as He gives us special moments that point to His creative power and His loving goodness. He loves to delight His children.

But how often do I miss those gifts as I hurry about my day. Hopping in the car and buzzing here and then there, crossing my daily tasks off my list, while missing the daily gifts the Lord has placed in my path. How about you?

May we each slow down a bit, and drink in the beautiful moments that God bestows on us, each divine gift of creation that He puts in our paths. May we be able, with a grateful heart, to respond with a reverant and joyous yes, when we hear His Father heart excitedly and lovingly whisper to us...

"My child.... did you see it?"
