Going Round in Circles....

Updated: Jul 28, 2023

Oh the fun that's been had on that old merry-go-round! The one at the Roanoke park! It used to be at the grade school (yeeears ago), before they moved it to the park! Does anyone have any idea how old it actually is? Don't you wonder how many kiddos have clung to it's pipe-like rails as their hair flew in the wind and their squeals of delight filled the air?

Round and round they go. Just like life that keeps going on going....as the world keeps spinning! How time flies by! And don't we all know it? How many of you are, like me, amazed at the number of years since our appearance on this earth? Are amazed to be called Grandma or Grandpa or to be able to reminisce back 50, 60 plus years ago? And for many of you, even more!

As our precious grandaughters and I spent a sweet time the other evening, riding that merry-go-round, spinning around in delightful circles, the scenery gently whizzing by, I shared with them the fun story that this very merry-go-round had been enjoyed by their Grandma and Grandpa Wiegand and likely their Grandpa Sauder and Grandma and Grandpa Plattner as well, when they were little kids (two of our kids married into families with Roanoke roots! How fun is that:). It was special to share this tidbit of information with them. It made their eyes light up as did their big smiles.

Yes, times does go on. How thankful we are that God is at the center of it all. That we are all on this merry-go-round of life with Him as the central figure from which life revolves. It makes all the diffence in the world. It keeps us from flying off course into confusion and despair. It keeps us grounded. It provides a safe place to watch the world pass by. It provides an inner joy and a sense of direction. He is the one that is controlling the speed and the direction. He allows different ones to hop on and hop off of our life, to sit next to us, or across from us, to slow us down or to speed us up.

As we thank God for the future generations that He is bringing into our lives, may we share with them the stories of days gone by, and especially the stories of Jesus, that they too will be equipped and prepared to hang on to Him, as life spins around and circles the sun, time and again for each of them. May He always be the center...

that their lives will circle around~

Wincing and Worship

Today I have been wincing. In pain. I did something to a hip muscle. Or so it seems. Might have something to do with the way I lifted those heavy chairs yesterday. But unfortunately, today there was n
