I am musing about.....A NewYear for Gratefulness

As the New Year dawns, I pondered a theme. What should 2024 be all about? Before this thought was graced with a mental question mark, an answer had already formed in my musing mind.

Gratefulness. That is what 2024 should be about. Everyday. Thanking Jesus. With intentionality and sincere gratitude. Thanking Him for this and for that, for the big and the little, the easy and even the hard. Thanking Him for each new day; recognizing the gift it represents. Thanking Him for moments with loved ones. For those are the moments most precious. Thanking Him for memories that have been made and those that are being made. Thanking Him for the sunshine and the rain, the questions and the answers, the exciting and the dull. Thanking Him for opportunities given and even those missed, recognizing that if you can't be somewhere else, be all in with where you are :)

Thanking Him for my readers and encouragers (you all mean alot!). Thanking Him for the gift of expression and the freedom to do so. Thanking Him for the many servants and prayer warriors in our midst and for the privilege to also serve and pray, to find meaning and purpose. Thanking Him for music of harmony and music of dissonance, recognizing the major keys and minor keys all have a place in a masterful production.

Thanking Him for the beauty of each new day. For the sunrises and the sunsets. For the flowers in bloom and the buds yet to come. For cloudy skies and blue horizons. For times of travel and times at home. For times of productivity and times of rest. For giggles and tears. For joy and for sorrow.

Thanking God for friendships; new and old. For coffee dates and random texts. For times of deep conversations and light hearted laughter. For facetimes with the grands, and those times when we can hold them close.

I recognize that this grateful mentality will take grace. God's grace. And prayer. Pray for me dear readers and I will offer a prayer up for each of you as well (God will know who you are). Let's pray that we all can look back on 2024, when Lord willing it draws to its close, and with a grateful heart whisper a prayer of thanks to our loving God from whom all blessings flow, and from whom we were blessed to live another year...

a year of Gratefulness!
