It's Happening! And it will!!

Updated: Apr 7, 2023

It's happening! Again! That glorious time of year when the world awakens from it's cold winter slumber. The red-breasted robins are hopping in the green, green grass! I just now noticed my yellow daffadils have made their lovely appearance in my annual garden! There is a small black bug climbing on my patio screen.

The air is warming. Our neighbors are spreading mulch across the street. Before long the buds will appear in the trees! The scent of flowering plants will greet us as we step outside! Spring is in the air!

God's plan for the seasons is reassuring. It is consistent and trustworthy! Every year, sooner or later, Spring returns. New life! How appropriate that this is the time of year when we celebrate Easter, God's gift for new life for all peoples!

Easter! It is happening once again! That time when we celebrate our Savior's victory over sin and death. That time when we contemplate the deep meaning of it all. The amazing sacrifice. May we ponder and sense the cruelty our Savior suffered. AND our God. How it must have pained Him to pour out His wrath for sin, the sins of the entire world, past, present and future. Your sins and mine. Poured out with such vehemence on His Only Son. His beloved Son. How is had to hurt Him to have to endure watching His Son endure. Endure what had to happen. God is a Holy God. He cannot exist with sin. The wages of sin had to be fulfilled, paid for. In order for His sinful creation to be reconciled to His holy, loving Father heart, a way had to be made. And that only way was through His perfect, beloved Son.

He who willingly came to fulfill His Father's plan, to take the punishment we all deserved. For the Word says "By His stripes (marks left by beatings) we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5) . God's plan required the shedding of blood. His Word shares that "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace" Ephes. 1:7.

As I contemplate the reality of the Trinity, we see a Christ, fully human; experiencing the intensity of the pain, and the burden of the weight of the sins of the world, to it's fullest degree. And we see Christ, fully God, for only the love of God could keep Him on the cross and see His Father's plan through to completion. Thank you God for making a way, the only way, for fallen mankind to once again have access to sweet communion with you,our loving Creator. Thank you Jesus for being obedient. Unto death. For through the disobedience of one (Adam), entered sin and death. And through the obedience of one, of Christ, entered righteousness and life.

So, getting back to the theme of this post.

It's happening! What's happening? Spring! Easter! New life!

What WILL happen? Just as we trust God to bring on the seasons, year after year, so we can trust Him to fulfil His plan. What is His plan? What will happen?

Jesus will come again! Someday. He will usher in a new life and a new world. A world that will last for eternity. Where there will be "endless Spring" (ongoing life). A place of beauty beyond our imagination. A place that the amazing granduers of this world and time, are but a foreshadowing of. A place of no more heartache, confusion, cruelty, oppression or despair! No more sin! A place prepared and reserved for His own children; those who have been washed in the saving blood of Jesus, the perfect, sacrificail Easter lamb!

So, as we all celebrate passion week, let's let its glorious meaning seep deep into our souls.

Thank you Jesus for the "happenings" around us! For Spring. And new life...

It's happening! And it will!!

1 Peter 1:3: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

Wincing and Worship

Today I have been wincing. In pain. I did something to a hip muscle. Or so it seems. Might have something to do with the way I lifted those heavy chairs yesterday. But unfortunately, today there was n
