"Music to my ears" (and heart)

I was on the road this morning! Nothing new:) Life has been pretty crazy lately. Do you feel that way too? Going here, going there, doing this, doing that. All good things. Enjoyable things. But in all reality....too. many. things. What should we cut out? It is hard to know. But maybe there is something...

Noise. It seems like I have gotten into a mode where I tend to seek intellectual and spiritual stimulation. It is not at all unusual, to turn on a podcast or listen to a radio message when in the car or working around the home. But this morning, I resorted back to my old standby... music! And it was good! It was refreshing and it ministered to my soul.

It helped me reflect on the beauty of worship, that time of spiritual connection with my Creator. That time of sharing heartbeats of praise and gratefulness! Music can take us to that place. Nature can as well. And so can silence. Simple. Silence. God's Word says "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).

Oh that stillness, that quietness where our God dwells. It is melodic. Even as the music of worship that reverberates through our being, sharing notes of reverance and gratitude pulsating down to our very soul! The worshipful music of quiet!
