Power and Progress

Being a holiday, my husband and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to take a ride on our new ebikes! We headed east into a heavy-duty NE wind! As the somewhat chilly breeze whipped by our helmets, making a noisy whir, we couldn't help but be thankful for our multi-layered clothing as well as the electrical assist!

The day proved to be lovely, defying the earlier forecast of clouds. The skies were that brilliant summer blue, the clouds white and whispy, the sun bright and welcome! As we pedaled along, I mused about life and power and progress. As I considered how life can get windy with the turbulence of challenges, trials and realities, I realized afresh the blessing of being led by the power of the Spirit within us. What would we do without the assist of God's Spirit to propel us on our way?

I also gave thankful contemplation of the fact that our batteries were charged and ready to go. That too made me ponder the reality of charging our Spiritual batteries by plugging daily into the Lord and His Word. Without these daily encounters, we would run the risk of losing power and finding ourselves at the potentially debilitating effects of life's struggles.

Times spent with Jesus, helps give us the ability to pedal along, enjoying the beauty and amazing scenery around us as we navigate life's windier days. Thank you Jesus for the gift of your...

progress providing power as we pedal on!
