Shedding Light on the Denver Sun

I was blessed to be able to spend part of last week in the beautiful Denver, CO area, enjoying precious time with our family and doing some "grandma time"! Always special!
Once again, I was reminded of the potency of the Denver sun! There is just something about it! Compared to being in Illinois, I would have to say that Denver's warm is warmer, cool less cool, sky more blue and sun more bright! One afternoon, as I played with the girls on their back patio, the sun clouded over and it even began to snow; large white flakes landing in the dark hair of our sweet grandgirls as they played in their new sandbox. I zipped my coat shut, assured they were dressed warm enough and continued to enjoy the afternoon. They did not even seem to notice. If I was home, the "bone-chilling" IL. wind and flurries would likely have me flurrying indoors (I am a wimp that way). But there...it was just more tolerable. Less cool. More warm :)
Was it the next day, or maybe two days later...the sun beat down with such intensity, that the coats were shed, as we strollered around their quaint little town (old town Arvada), soaking up the rays.
The cool less cool, the warm, more warm. Why is it? Why does the sun feel so much better, stronger?
Could it be because we are in the "mile high city"? That we are simply closer to the sun? Is that the difference? Does the proximity to the sun affect the atmosphere, the color of the sky the way we feel?
It sounds quite likely to me. And so...you likely know where this muse is heading...
To the SON, the bright, shining, loving Son of God. The closer we are to Him, the more intimate our walk, the more we sense the warmth of His love, the light of His guidance, the blue of our personal skies.
This is my take-away. May I take my way to Jesus seriously. May I draw close daily. That I may be able to more fully bask in His warmth and His light. May you too my friend. Thanks for musing along on the light that was shed in my heart...
by the light of the Denver sun!
