The Fashion Designer

Updated: May 7, 2024

As I gaze out the window, I am struck with the sheer, simple beauty of the leaf laden trees against the blue and white skies! Spring is here and once again the Ultimate Fashion Designer has been doing His thing; dressing the world around us with timeless beauty.

When we returned from Florida this winter, it occurred to me of the stark difference between the lush greeness we had just left and the bleak barreness of our IL winter, especially regarding the trees. There is just something about brown, lifeless, unadorned branches that speaks of bleakness and winter. (Sorry, not to put down one of God's wonderful seasons, but realistically sharing my thoughts.)

As Spring arrives in its full glory, and those drab branches once again are adorned in their green splendor, I am reminded of the vibrant touch of our life-giver. Our Creator knows just how to turn a barren tree into a stately and elegant thing of beauty. He can also turn a lifeless portion of brown ground into a vibrant, colorful flower garden that practically takes our breath away.

"In his time", after the season of waiting, of expectancy, of continously taking in the waters He provides and the sunshine He sends, the trees and the land burst forth with new beauty and purpose.

And so dear ones, when we find ourselves going through the dark, challenging, waiting seasons, may we continue to take in His sustenance and light, knowing that the day will come, when our lives will be touched once again, by the splendid adornment only made possible by the ultimate fashion designer. He best knows our style, our color, our purpose. After all, He fashioned us and placed us where He wants us in this garden of life.

How thankful we are for the touch and the vision of ...
