The Trust of a Child

Today we were blessed with a delightful outing with our son, his wife and their family. Who knew that hanging out at a playground could be so fun? Only when experienced through the thrills of a child! After multiple trips skimming down the various green slides, climbing, pretending, racing, taking excursions over the "wiggly bridge" and then sliding some more, it was time to head for home.

As we walked back to their home from the "park", both girls enjoyed being carried; the three year old by mama and the almost one year old on Daddy's shoulders. Smiles and contentment were noted on both the girls' faces.

As we arrived at home, our son took his little one and exclaimed, "she loves this" as he tossed her into the air, the blue sky behind her as she swooped up and then back down into the waiting arms of her loving father. She giggled. A lot. It was so cute. She seemed totally oblivious to the potential of harm; after all her Daddy was there, he would catch her.

What a lesson it was for me, to trust my Father. As life sends me whirling at times, into the vast skies of unkowns, challenges, twists and turns, may I too, be filled with excitement, joy and abundant trust, knowing that my Father in Heaven's got this. He will not let me fall. He will catch me and set me back on the ground, aright.

His Word says we should "become as little" children (Matt. 18:3). He desires that utmost, unadulterated, full trust. The pure, loving trust...of a child!
