What If...

The other day, I was on a get-away to another part of the country. I was contemplating the reality that there are many people in this world who do not believe in God. I let my imagination go a bit as I decided to give some consideration to a very disturbing thought. What if... God really didn't exist? What would life really look like? What kind of a world would this be?

As I pondered, I realized that, to begin with, there would not even be a world. Without God, our Creator, there would not be a created existence.

But putting that reality aside, what would a world without God look like?

-It would be a world without hope; without a promising expectation of a better time to come.

-It would be a world without meaning; without a sense of purpose or identity as to the reason for our existence.

-It would be a world without the plan of salvation, with no redemption from life's pain and despair.

-It would be a world without the supernatural power to obey God's success principles.

-It would be a world without the Bible and thus with no life manual for how to live life fruitfully and well.

-It would be a world without a moral compass to dictate right from wrong and thus a life wherein inherent wrong would control and reign.

-It would be a world where chaos would be the norm as everyone traverses to their own "marching orders".

-It would be a world without love and all the good things that true love brings.

-It would be a world without family structure and the stability it provides.

-It would be a world without joy and only momentary and fleeting happinesses at best.

Yes, a world without God, would be a world of utter devestation and despair.

But as I considered all the negatives that such a world would present, possibly the saddest of all, the part that filled me with the greatest sense of emptiness and sorrow, is that it would be a world....

Without my very best friend! My wonderful, caring, loving, understanding, helping, guiding, Savior and Friend. My Jesus!

And that my friend, is a world I never want to experience! Ever! But for so many...that IS their world.

Oh how different this world would be, if everyone would come to knew and and love my very best Friend! My Jesus.
